Biggest tire on stock wheel setup? Wanting 275/35R19
Couldn't find another thread addressing the 35 sidewall.
Just got my 305/35R19 in the rear and fit beautifully. Discount tire told me that 275/35R19 will not fit in the front but 275/30R19 will. Currently the tire that will fit is on order but if someone knows that the 275/35 will fit the stock wheel no spacer that would be amazing. 😮💨
Attaching rear tire fitment photo for those interested.
305 is too wide of a tire for our stock rear wheels. You have more rubber on the road for grip during acceleration, but the roll of the sidewall really compromises cornering ability.
That being said, I would try to preserve front end responsiveness as much as possible. +1 size up (265) from OEM width would be ideal.

Agreed. The tire needs to sit on the wheel properly and if the tire is too wide for properly support, it simply would protrude from the wheels on the inner/outer extremities. It will cause a loss in steering feel and the steering would feel a bit "spongy" off-center and also the sidewalls would not hold up under cornering loads. On a 10.5 inch wheel, 295mm is the widest I would go for.

Honestly 305 feels and handles like heaven, even with running 255 in the front currently. The 275s that come stock on the car wouldn't hook to save my life, literally sideways till 80mph. Nitto also happens to only make the 555 G2 tires in 285 or 305 for 19 diameter, obviously the lesser option being a waste of money since it would make negligible difference in traction. Car finally feels solid in the back with out cornering feeling any different other than the current understeer for running 255/305 (only reason i'm currently running this is due to finding a cut in my tire after ordering new tires and needed to replace the rears the second the tires came in). Not to mention, launching the car as if I was drag racing from a stop on normal pavement results in only a single chirp of spin before hooking and keeping traction the whole way. Definitely wouldn't have been capable of this for running anything smaller from this tire type and not looking to change tire type since my last set of these tires lasted me 4yrs/50k miles no issues.
Was hoping someone had experience in running 275's up front on the stock 19x9 wheels and stock suspension.

I am not gonna lie, you can definitely get a good launch on much less sticky, and narrower tires. I have Continental DWS06 plus (in stock size so 275/35/19 rear) which are all seasons, and when it's warm outside I have no issues launching from a dead stop. Hooks right up perfectly. It's more of a matter of getting heat into them. What tires did you have previously?

I think that speaks to the type of tires. The PS4S Extra load I have hook up well out of turns both on the front and rear. With TVD in SLALOM, it gets feisty in the back while exiting turns on power (with 500+ HP on tap), but very easy to control on stock 275 mm wide rear tires (though, the 275 mm PS4S Extra Load were half inch wider than the OEM PSS 275 rear tires).
