2016 RCF transmission replacement.
Has anybody swapped out an RCF transmission yet. Going back with factory one just looking for information on how big of a job this will be.

What’s going on? Never heard of a trans issue with these. Curious what to watch for.

I think on the IS F forums there are a few documented cases of transmission failure, I think most of them had to do with reverse or something. It has been a while since I last looked into it. So far though I haven't seen any modern renditions having the same issue. I too am quite curious as to whats going on.

I’m going to go on a limb and say he has a supercharger. I read somewhere the transmission was good until 600 HP.

My 2016 RCF has no reverse
Mine is right under 80k miles & needs a new transmission as well its all stock, im 2nd owner got it at 38k miles & i never did a transmission service so might be my fault but its so unfortunate :/ lexus dealer is charging me 10k plus taxes to replace. Talked to corporate & nothing they can do since its passed warranty. So much for “lexus reliability” 👎

I dont think lexus recommends changing the transmission oil for the RCF (or GSF).
First sorry to hear about the blown transmission. Not to sound insensitive, but I don't get it. Why is Lexus to blame for the blown transmission when you said it yourself that the previous owner never did the transmission service? That is the issue I warn everyone looking for an RCF about that the used market is littered with poorly kept RCFs. Either their service records were incomplete/shady or missing or they were fitted with junk parts (recently, I saw someone fit an RCF with his previously owned G37S coilovers and then complain the car slides all over the place. That is laughably bad). I have bought all of my three cars mildly used I have (IS350 F-Sport, RX450h and RCF) and it is always a very lengthy and somewhat painful process to find the car that checks all of the boxes in the used market, but finding one that does check all the boxes gives the best probability of successful ownership long term.

I changed mine anyway since mine does track use.
I doubt the fluid has much to do with losing reverse though. I would think that a reverse issue probably is a clutch/solenoid/ or band issue within the trans.
If it is a known issue, then people should know what is causing it by now.
