Lexus RCF hounds down Ferrari 488 GT3
Is this stock RC F
Is it driver's skill in the RC F or lack of in the Ferrari?
Also, asking for recommendation about oil change: Received my 2015 RC F in October last year with 6,100 miles and now it has 9,100 miles, should I wait until 5,000 miles on it or go ahead and change oil and filter?
If you haven't participated in the poll for RC F owner's age, please do so here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rc-...-age-poll.html

He is almost stock with possibly slick tires:
Lexus RCF - stock power, stock suspension with swift springs, Volkracing ZE40 with Pirelli DH tires
To answer your question, it is pretty obviously all in the driver. On the straights, 488 was getting away, but was being overly cautious in the turns. RCF is going 9/10 or 10/10 while the 488 is going 6/10 or 7/10. The 488 is a borderline hypercar. It would wreck even an LFA all day. It would not even be close if the 488 driver was comfortable pushing the car to the limits.

If you haven't changed it since you bought it...go ahead and change it. If, however, you changed it right after you got it, wait another 900 miles and change at 10K.

Oil was changed before delivery, but my concern is the going 10 months without oil change rather than the driven mileage.
Changing oil at 10,000 miles is appealing to me since it create an easy milestone to consider in the future. Thanks

Yeah. I know. There is this one as well. Ferrari California makes around 550 HP. It is supposed to be the cheapest Ferrari.

[QUOTE=x360box;11326446]The RCF has LOTS of oil in the sump so it will still lube well longer than sumps with less oil like a normal car. The duration limit for oil is related to number of heatups. If you drive a lot of short trips it will need changing quicker; but if you drive 1000 miles at one go and then let it sit for a month, the oil will last as long as the mileage between says regardless of how much time since it doesn't degrade when just sitting in the sump. If you are worried, change it. Another money saving hint, you can siphon oil out from the dipstick tube and add fresh if you don't think the filter needs doing; but the filter should be changed once in a while.

The car isn't going to grenade itself if you wait another 900 miles...etc. Just wait until you get to 10k that's fine.
My cars either get changed at the specific interval or time.... I'd say the MAJORITY of my cars get oil changed once a year from the sheer standpoint that I don't drive them as much as I should be, with the exception of my DD, that gets changed every 3ish months because I am putting on 5k miles on it in that time.

That's exactly what I was wondering about, the oil degradation. When I look at the oil, it is still looking like new. I don't Rev it up often and I should. I lived in Europe and you learn to drive very economically your Fiat 127.
Have you tried to siphon the oil from your RC F, it's a good idea, but would you get out all the 8 quarts that way? Thanks

Yeah, 10K make sense, thanks for the input.
