Default The roller coaster asking price of this RCF

I bought a 2019 RCF 10th Ann. version in Sept of last year. I knew I wanted that exact model. Criteria was no accidents and lowest mileage I could find. I found the one I bought and am very happy with it. Having searched any and all autotrader type car listing sites, I started getting a regular listing of cars for sale like mine in my FB feed. This one came up a month or 2 after I bought my car. The asking price was 65K (made me LOL). It kept popping up on my FB feed when they kept dropping the price. It went down to 57K last time. It started popping back up on FB a couple months ago. Started out at 65K again....and now down to this...

If it's this car, that's fairly high mileage (> 52k) for a car only 3 years old:

Used 2019 Gray Lexus RC F For Sale in Grapevine, TX - GRUBBS INFINITI Near Dallas - #1 INFINITI Dealer in The U.S.A.

I'm not shocked they are having trouble selling it.

Yup I considered that car too but the price was ridiculous for the mileage.

At $55k, it's actually not too bad though.

This is one of my favorite dealers to look up from time to time due to the absolute absurdity of some of the listings they have. I really wonder how their inventory manager has a job sometimes. They must be getting some killer deals at auction and great luck when they go back to auction

The mileage is way too high for what they are asking. Mileage aside, the paint requires a soft touch to not damage the finish. I wonder what the paint looks like up close?

It is quite expensive for that many miles. We are in a weird area where the market seems to be adjusting back down and it'll take time for list prices to catch up due to dealers trying to keep some funds that they invested.

It's interesting shopping and seeing "listed 70+ days ago" I feel like that hasn't happened for a few years

I disagree with everyone that the mileage is too high for the asking price. This is a 2UR GSE. Come on, 300,000+ miles, right? Maybe it's something else, like the condition is pretty bad up close?

I know a GS F 2019 10th Anniversary Edition just like this one that sat at Lexus Escondido for basically 2 months. Beautiful car, mint condition. The price went from $89k down to $67k before it sold. The reason: reeked of cigars inside.

I'd almost be willing to bet there's nothing wrong with it. I know this dealer has non-negotiable adds I just can't think of the total at the moment.
My RC F had adds too but they gave me 6k over sticker (on paper) for my trade. 3k after subtracting adds

I bought my 2019 10th anniversary edition in September with 582 miles on it. It was originally bought by an older guy who did not tell his wife. First thing he did was rent a self storage garage to park it in. He drove it on nice days when his wife was busy. One guy here gave me crap for the price I paid. I wanted that exact model for many reasons. I paid 70K OTD. Everything about the car was like brand new. Long story short, the guy who bought it has a brother who owns a ford dealership and made a deal to sell the car through them. The dealership listed the car as "call for price". They were asking full retail MSRP. Took 1 day for them to agree to 70K. I love the car and never thought I would have owned one when they came out in 2019.

As long as you're happy then who cares what anyone else says about what you paid. When they start a car fund for you that's when they'll get a vote in what you buy

Agreed. If you plan on keeping the car, I don't think it is worth spending time analyzing the trends of the market value etc. The trends will alwa.ys keep changing

exactly. Also, being a gearhead has never been a place to make money. There are a few hobbyists who buy project cars, fix them up, and make a couple hundred in the process but we're talking very few people.

At the end of the day I wouldn't be looking back going "I wish I spent $2k less" if the car is making me grin from ear to ear and it's a long term keeper

I love my car and happy with the deal. To me, it's just a shock to see what some dealers try to get away with.

for most dealers this was always their business strategy. Desperation is just finally high enough that it works now.
I might drive by and check this car out when I'm in the area later this month, I'm curious how everything looks up close as well
