High mileage RCF price - opinions wanted
So, I’ve been looking at RCFs and GSFs for almost a year. I really want a 2018-2020 GSF but cannot justify the $70,000+ price range. I recently looked at a 2016 RCF with 78k miles. I typically wouldn’t look at a car with these miles but it was previously a CPO car, by the last owner since almost new, with all dealer services until this year. However, it did not have the 60k done and needed rear brake job. Car has performance and premium packages and only lacks the triple beam headlights.
Any thoughts/opinions on selling price? It is very clean for its age and mileage but not perfect. FWIW I already has a GS350 F-sport with 44k miles which I’ve had 3+ years.
All comments are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Sounds about right in this market provided it passes a PPI. Carmax for reference: Used Lexus RC F for Sale (carmax.com)
If you can get a few grand off all the better but that mileage wouldn't scare me, it is a Toyota underneath.

Lots of miles, but it's a lexus. How long do you intend to drive it and in what capacity? Daily driver, track? Ask seller to do the 60K service and go from there. It's a fun car, but lots of things are expensive to repair/replace.

I personally paid a premium for a pristine, almost brand new condition RCF (had only 8K miles on it) as I plan on keeping it practically forever so I would take care of it accordingly. Also, I wanted CF/TVD as well so that was my other requirement, which also came at a premium. Anyway, fast forward 5 years, I am glad I did as the car still drives like a brand new car knowing I did buy something that was "abused" so to speak.

That seems like a fair price in todays market. Is it a good car? Yep it’s a fancy Toyota. However I see that the cars closer to 50K have far less miles. I would splurge 5K and treat myself but I can’t be upset if you want to save the money.

Appreciate the replies. Car would simply be a daily driver, no track use.
I guess the price is fair. KBB put it at 37-39k. Hard to pay over book for a car approaching 80k miles...may pass and wait for a lower mileage one.
Decision time.

I would do a nation wide search for similar vehicles with similar mileage and see what the avg price is for something similar. Use that info to work on a better price or find maybe you will find one that matches more of what you would like.

Quick update, seller says he has an offer for $42,000 from a dealer. I did some online quotes from sites like Carmax and the prices offered to buy it were between 31-33k. KBB says trade in is 35-37, private party value is 37. And, the car is not perfect, mechanically or cosmetically.
Nationwide search says the asking price should be between 37-40 at a dealer. I would imagine lower privately.
I made an offer. Not going to overpay because people think they have gold thanks to what covid did to used cars. Same way I refuse to pay over sticker for a new car. If people refused to pay the ridiculous premium we wouldn’t be in this situation.

I would say, pass on this car. Don't make an offer on this car. If you are really working with a tight budget then this car is not a good choice and you would not be very happy as it does cost quite a lot co maintain. Mostly on the consumables part like brakes, tires etc. are all expensive. Gas is also expensive these days. You will have to cut corners and buy cheaper stuff that does not do the the car justice.

I am in Michigan & my local Lexus dealer I purchased my IS500 Launch Edition at msrp has a clean CPO 2016 RCF on their lot only 58k miles. Check it out plus with the CPO you get the benefits & the price is good imo. $48,998.00 clean carfax too. Sales are awesome they gave me top $$ trade-in when I took delivery of my IS500.

I thought you were on a tight budget. That changes my answer to no way Jose too many miles for too much money. Spend more and get lower miles is my opinion.
