side-by-side RCF seemed more settled, which may be less fun in the end, but still quite a testament to the engineering prowess at Lexus

This. I may take my RC F to the track once a year if lucky. Every other day it's going to be awesome DD and a super sporty GT.

HAHA...no surprise here. Despite all of the action commentary on both cars, the RCF was a mere 3/10s of a second off the "miraculous" M4 on the track. . And give me a break on Lagos comment, the supremely enjoyable oversteer of the M4. It is clearly a deficit if you watch the hot lap and the fighting between the driver and the steering wheel on corners.
I have no taste for the oversteer of the M4. It might be fun for the driver, but it's holding the 400 pound LIGHTER car back.
Way to go Yaguchi and Lexus! The RCF appears to be the best over road and track machine.

So there you have it. The RC-F did phenomenally well on the race track. In many corners, Randy was actually braking late with the RC-F. In the straights, they both had very similar trap speeds.
Despite all of the "hoopla" of RC-F being not a "track weapon" like the M4, RC-F was only 3/10ths slower around the race track than the so-called "track weapon" M4. They both crossed the finish line within 1 - 1.5 car length of each other. They were literally neck and neck at the finish line. All while weighing 400 lbs more than the M4.
RC-F is a lot closer to the M4 than IS-F was to the E90/E92 M3. Amazing job Lexus!

Given the 3/10s of a second difference, the RCF was a winner on the track as well. And I am sure the RCF will drift even more for brave-hearted, capable drivers who elect to spin in Expert mode.
And how embarrassing it was for poor Carlos with the RCF being a mere 3/10s off the M4. He had to eat some crow at the end of the video as was apparent in his final efforts to lift up the M4 (that got kicked in the butt).

Clearly the m4 didn't get kicked in the butt as it still won the track test. I'm not a huge 3/4-series fan for this generation, so I really like the RC F regardless.
In any event, if I do wonder if these same "oh it's more balanced as a DD and track tool, therefore better" comments will still be happening if the Mercedes C63 AMG ends up being along the same vein.

The track comments on the two cars were and will always be subjective--unlike the lap test.
This is a remarkable accomplishment for Lexus, IMO.

LOL. OK I guess we're all entitled on our interpretation of winning then...even though you should be aware that the time they posted was the fastest out of many laps. Despite this win for the M4, we do need to see some results on other tracks as well to see how they stack up.

I suspect that over multiple laps, an M4 would fatigue the driver more and cause him to lose concentration and over several laps, the RC-F would post faster and more consistent times.
