Default ECT Power Switch

Can a ETC Power Switch switch from 2002 be used in 2000 RX 300 model year?

It seems that in 2001, they changed the switch to show only ECT/Snow versus 2000 RX300 where the switch shows Power/ECT/Snow

I wanted to upgrade gear shift to burlwood from 2002 in my 2000 RX 300

The switch physically fits but isn’t compatible with the wiring and ECU. For the shifter, you can just pull up and it’ll come off revealing the OD/OFF wires, these can be trimmed and turned into connectors for easy future removal.

I have a post on here somewhere showing pictures of when I put a shifter from a 2002 RX300 into my 2000 RX300. You can remove the shifter but the wires going to the OD will have to be cut. I removed the panels around the shifter mechanism and cut my wires down inside the mechanism so that I had plenty of excess and used some good crimp connectors that you melt the ends to seal them up. It wasn't super difficult, just time consuming, I think I spent a couple of hours, and just keep up with how everything goes back together. My 2000 model had a leather steering wheel and leather shifter. At Pull-a-Part i found a 2002 model with a really nice wood steering wheel and wood shifter and I swapped them out and I have loved the look ever since.

Thanks all! Made the Switch to the Wood Shift Handle. Splicing the drive shift was not too bad if you follow the directions and are comfortable with cutting wires.
On to my next DYI modification; maybe 9” android screen to replace outdated mini info screen.

That looks very nice with the brown. If I ever find a brown set up like that at Pull-a-Part, I may snag it and change it out. The vehicle I got my steering wheel and shifter from was also a 2002 model but was black. I kinda like it though. I swapped out the steering column covers also so they would be black as well, it all kind of brings out the black trim pieces also. Here is mine.

Here is another angle of my set up. I think it is a pretty cool upgrade that we have done.

Fully agree! Definite Pick-N-Pull upgrade for all 99-00. Next time you go back, make sure you grab the door sills as well if you haven’t already….another easy upgrade from the ugly black plastic trim for only $15 for all 4.
