I have a 2001 Lexus RX300. I rolled up windows, locked up car. Left for 5 minutes went back to car. All windows down and sunroof open. All doors unlocked! My key was in my pocket. Key, see attached. Any ideas, creeped me out...

Hi, are you sure your RX is a 2021 model? That’s not the key I expected to see for that year and also didn’t think Lexus made a rx300 then. I’m guessing it’s a 98-2003 and if you confirm I’ll move your post to the right spot


regardless sometimes with that type of key the unlock button can get stuck down or accidentally depressed in your pocket which activates the feature to roll down windows and open sunroof to cool down the car (just like holding down the unlock button while walking to your car does if you didn’t know it did that)

if memory serves I also think that’s a replacement aftermarket key and not an OEM Lexus key so you also could be having some issues with that malfunctioning

This is correct. If the unlock is held down for about 3-5 seconds, it'll roll all the windows down + sunroof open, so most likely it was held down in your pocket somehow. iirc, just about every late 90s and onwards Lexus has this functionality.
