Default New system in my RX300

This weekend I finished taking my system out of my old mazda protege and installing it in the RX300. It consits of one 15" MTX 7000 and a US Acoustics 300 watt amp. After reading a lot of posts on here about other people's audio installs, I was able to easily set everything up without any problems. The only thing is, I don't feel as though the MTX hits as hard in the RX300 as it did in the Mazda. When I had it in the Mazda it was LOUD. Now it only seems to only hit about 60-70% as hard as it used to. I've narrowed the problem down to two reasons and I'm hoping you guys can provide your input.

1. The first reason is that instead of splicing the wires from the OEM woofer under the passenger seat into my LOC, I spliced the wires from the two speakers in the rear doors. Now I'm thinking that maybe the OEM amp isnt sending as much bass to the door speakers and the tweeters as it is to the OEM sub, therefore my LOC isnt feeding my amp the right amount of bass.

2. The other reason could be the fact that the Mazda was a lot smaller than the RX300 is. The RX300 has a lot of space to fill sound with so I think maybe thats why it doesn't hit as hard??? I don't know, I just wanted to see what you guys thought.

BINGO!

This is the reason. You need to feed your LOC with the OEM sub speaker wires for it to produce the low frequencies. Once you do that you'll be hitting just as hard as before.

Yeah that's what I figured. Now in order to get to the OEM woofer, do I have to completely remove the passenger seat, or can I just remove the plastic cover which surrounds the bottom of the seat?

I use a limited edition Clarion mpz815 head unit, with the HE2 12's and the Lunar amps, etc.... and it bumps big time in an RX even more than my Rodeo or my 4Runner!

(the bar under the mp3 player is a blue neon)

lemme know if ya interested in doing something like this, i'll help ya any way i can

SIDE NOTE: i bought a whole new dash piece on ebay for $30 in case i messd up or wanted to put it back stock, so if ya thinking of doing some cuttin you may wanna watch ebay they have them on there all the time
