RX300 2001 Rainwater leakage
Greetings Lex Friends,
I recently bought a second hand RX300 2001 128K miles after a dead tree fell on my well maintained Jeep 😳.
It’s not the time to invest in a new vehicle and I’ve researched good reviews about this ride.
My question is if anyone has experienced water leakage into the cabin of this or comparable models after heavy rains. When it rains, I noticed a small pool of water collected in the trunk spare tire well, and the floor in the cabin was damp. From visual inspection, the rubber seals around the whole vehicle seemed intact as well as the sunroof. Is this a common occurrence with these older models and is there something me or my mechanic should focus on in particular to save time? I bought an all season weatherproof car cover as a temporary band-aid.
Thanks. I appreciate this forum. Peace & Blessings.

Water has to be diverted and drained. The rubber lining channels the water through drain holes.
Potential entry spots are:
Clogged drain line from the sun-roof. Use the weed-eater string to clear out the blockage. Compressed air can open up joints if the clog is stuck.
Bad seal around front/rear windshield.
Another problem source is the A/C condensate. The evap clamshell can separate or the pipe can be clogged leading to leak in the passenger footwell.

After another check, I see the windshield seals aren’t flush against the glass in some spots even though they look in decent condition.. Anyone have ideas of how to fix?

I'm having the same issue with my 2002 model RX300. Archie, did you ever find out for sure what was going on? Salim mentioned the sun rood drain, or condensate drain for the AC, but didn't mention anything about locating either line. Any help appreciated.
