Exclamation RX300 2001 Remote Key Programmimg

Greetings Folks,

I recently got an RX300 2001 with only a manual key and I ordered online a pair of remote entry keys.
My question is does anyone know or can direct me to proper instruction to program the 2 new keys?

From online research and Youtube instructions there seemed to be quite the choreography of steps 🕺😅
Do I also need to do a deprogramming step in case the former owner had an old lost remote key, for my new ones to work?
I’ve read a concerning story where someone did it improperly and a vehicle security function activated where it wouldn’t start. I’d like to avoid any issues and do it properly the first time.
Thanks for any advice.

☮️ Archie

Keep in mind there are 3 things you need to do with the keys:

Blade: The groove needs to be personalized/copied to make the physical key to operate ALL locks+iginition or Valet [does not operate glove box]

Remote programming [just be careful as you do not want to wipe out the existing key-remote]

Imobilizer programming. [my indersttanding is that for early models you need the master key]. Without master key you would need special equipment to get to the EEproms. Check with locksmiths or search here in CL.

Hi!
I read your key programming post from last year. -Bummer. $500 bucks for key programming at the dealer?! -Did it come with a remote starter install lol!

I assume you didn’t find any other updated resolution to program a key fob? (I also bought on Amazon). Thanks for your post because I wouldn’t want to have the groove copied to my original just to find out it couldn’t be programmed.

Thanks. I reposted showing the key I was given -which is just a manual.
Based on ashukla12345 post, and what you said about imobilizer programing, this unfortunately seems complicated or expensive

Call auto locksmith in your area and share what your situation.

Key blank blades come in two lengths. Measure your copy and purchase the right length.

For duplicate remote purchase remote with matching FCC code and you can program it with instructions posted here in CL. Members have confirmed that the steps listed are right.

Private mail member Mouser to discuss immobilizer programming.
