Anyone Change the Windshield Wipers?

I am not happy with the Lexus OEM inserts I bought, they only last a year (and I hardly use them in San Diego).
Is there any aftermarket inserts we can use instead, I don't want to replace the arm, just the blade, just not happy with the Lexus ones (not to mention the cost!).

Sun cuts down the life as well as dirt grime the wipers try to wipe off.

You can buy cheap Pylon inserts at Walmart. About $2.69 for two. Just be forewarned that they suck. Been there, done that, back to OEM.

A year is great. My OEM inserts also last about a year, while aftermarket lasted about 3-4 months (Bosch, Car&Driver, Michelin, Pylon, etc.)

I gave it a go a couple weeks ago and could not, for the life of me, get the new blades on. I had to take it to the dealer and have them install them. (Which they did.) However, now my wipers make this sound when they wipe. Before, my wipers were very quiet. Now, I hear this "click" when they come up. Very annoying....

My experience with Lexus dealers says it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to have them fix anything right. And, the few times they do fix something right, you bring the car home only to discover an unrelated problem which you didn't have when you took the car in and Lexus swears they didn't do it...just a magical coincidence.

I had to do the same with my LS400. Dealer replaced blower motor under warranty and when I got home the glove box would not close. I could write a book on all the stuff Lexus has done to my cars and I only have had my cars back there when they needed warranty work. But, the free coffee and long stem rose made everything worthwhile.

Installed new Rain-X weatherbeater blades on both RX's a couple of months ago. 3 minutes to change all 4 front blades. As mentioned, driver and passenger side are different lengths. No need for OEM blades when quality blades can be bought and installed for much less in just a few minutes. At $8 per blade, they are a no brainer.
