Default Buying an 02 rx300 but trans fluid was flushed 1k miles ago

Hi everyone! Following up on another post I made regarding buying this. Had some concerns about a potential rx300 I was looking to buy. Has 110k miles, good service history, very clean. However my one concern is the trans fluid was flushed 1k miles ago, and from what I can see from the Carfax, that’s the only time it was ever flushed or drained. Is it still an ok buy possibly? I’m a bit suspicious because it’s now being sold 1k miles after that. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

A test drive would settle any concern. How did that go?

That was a complete service, it doesn’t seem odd. Also, it was over two years ago. Some people do maintain their vehicles - it’s not a red flag.

It went good but I wasn’t able to go past 45min bc of la highway traffic.

yes I do know it’s regular service, I just was concerned bc it wasn’t done before, and then they decide to sell shortly after having it done. But I’m going again right now, and want to try driving it at higher speeds.

are there specific things I should do on that drive, like pressing and accelerating hard I’m assuming? That’s what I’ve gotten from videos I’ve watched at least

One, 106K is not unheard of for a first-time ATF flush. And two, you really don't know if that was a flush or drain/refill. If it shifts good, then it is good to go.

I don’t consider two years a short period of time, unless talking about geology or the 1/2 life of plutonium-239.

It simply sounds like they got good advice from a mechanic, and took it. It happens sometimes.

Most of these vehicles never get any transmission service.

A casual-owner/user, one can only make superficial determination. I would highly recommend paying a mechanic to do the mechanical evaluation for a used vehicle over $5K.
