Increase Hp suggestions
I just bought a 1999 AWD RX300 with 30,000 miles. I ordered the K&N Air Filter and will soon get some Bosch PP4 plugs. Any other suggestions to increase the horses? Thanks.

area - not a lot of easy options for HP increase. You can always drive with ECT in power (PWR) mode, take the overdrive off, install a cold air intake and low restriction exhaust.
Maybe someone has some other ideas...

Im still a little confused... when you say turn the overdrive off, is it off when the overdrive light come on or is it off when the overdrive light is off. Cause the OD light says OD/off when lit and people tell me that OD is on when lit. very confusing... Care to clear it up for me thanks!

The overdrive is off when lit - it says "O/D Off" I would leave it on all the time, no reason to turn it off to gain power, it won't help. Your best bet is just turning on the PWR button to raise shift points of the tranny. The RX has decent power and IMO, the need for more power should lead to the need for another car - perhaps a sports car

The RX300 specs Iridium plugs. So those Platinum plugs probably won't work. I hate the K&N filter. It apparently does not filter out all the dust. Look through the filter and you see lots of holes. Overtime the dust will scratch the cylinder walls and the engine loses compression. That's what happened to my last car. I should've sued K&N. They always brag about how race cars use them. Well race car engines are tossed in trash after 1,000 miles.
My advice is to return the K&N and use the savings to buy premium gas. It supposes to improve performance according to the owner's manual. That's a fairly painless upgrade.
I asked TRD about the TRD supercharger kit for V6 Camry and Solara a while back. They told me that it won't fit in my 2002 RX300. I didn't quite understand this since there's tons of room under the hood and the engines are virtually identical. Maybe somebody else here would know.
Putting in a less restrictive exhaust might give you extra 3-5 horses. It might make the exhaust noisy though. How'bout a bottle of nitro?
