RX300 with RF Modulated MP3 changer
Hi all. Just finished installing a mp3 changer in my 2003 rx300. used the pink wire on cigaret lighter for ignition 12v, and used the red/grey wire on the third plug behind the head unit for constant power. Question: is it normal to hear noises while playing mp3 discs? I am hearing intermitent cracking noises during mp3 playback, and there's nothing wrong with the discs.
Has anyone experienced similar problems? i'm using 88.3 Mhz as the frequency for my fm modulator.
Any inputs are greatly appreciated!

I am a bit worried that i might have connected the wrong wire for the constant pwr. Can anyone verify the right color wire for constant power on the head unit of my car? It's a 2003 RX300 with the nakamichi 6 cd changer.
Thanks!
Thanks!

ok, i've figured out the constant 12v as well. the install is finished. However, the sound quality of the rf unit is not as good as i thought it might be. it's not even as good as a cassette adapter version of the mp3 playback from my old trusty rio S90!!

Remember, using the RF adapter, you're using airwaves to send the signal to your receiver. Your tape adapter is a direct connect to the audio system. No chance of getting fuzzy air-wave signals.
I have heard that RX's with the Nakamichi system has a direct source input located in the system. I don't know if that's true, but that would be a "line-in". You just need an adapter from the output of your changer to the connect of the radio.
Good Luck!
