I've got both a GS400 and LS400 - works fine with both.

With Craftman's opener, RX & GS had no problem in programing with a time gap of 1 year.

The craftsman (belt drive ) opener has what is referred as "rolling code".
My understanding is that each sending remote is registered by the opener. This registeration happens when the opener (not the sendig remote) is set in the learn mode.

I am stumped. I was reporting my observation and do not have the exact knowledge. What brand opener do you have? Ask the manufacturer on how to add additional remotes. You may get the run-around ... ask Lexus or the car manufacturer. Try to establish the steps needed to add supplimentary remotes form the SAME company (same as the one which manufactured the opener).
