AWD? FWD?? RX300? RX330?

That's not bad mileage for a 4000 lb vehicle, regardless, for city driving. Expect ~ 1-2 mpg less for AWD vs FWD. And octane won't affect gas mileage to a significant degree. Plus, unless your OM specifies 93 octane, you're spending more money without realizing any benefit.

I think you can use as low as 87 octane on the rx300, not sure about the 330. 18mpg sounds about right though.

I just bought an '04 RX 330, and the manual says 87 or better, but 91 or better would result in better performance. My '01 Highlander seemed to get better performance and gas mileage with 91 or better, so I'm trying that first (93 octane at Costco) in the 330. My first tank I got a little over 18.5 mpg, which is about what I was expecting. Too much of my commute is bumper to bumper traffic.

The Roady wireless FM transmitter is what I'm using, and the sound quality is pretty good.
