Oil for a diesel can also be run in a gasoline engine. Not a problem at all. So, won't go into that discussion.

But, diesel oil has better anti-sludging qualities than gasoline oil and higher lubricity. Rating is like SL - higher than the highest gasoline oil of SJ. And, has longer drain times.

So, anyone using, say, Delo in their RX?

I run Delo in my 82 Corvette that has 194,000 miles on it and gets 21,000 miles per year and I love it. Still does not use ANY oil. And, I drive hard. Hate anyone to pass me!

In theory, one could do this. Here in Mexico, it is quite common to see mechanics run some diesel fuel through their engine when doing an oil change. However, this is always done with the engine off and basically the mechanics just pour it in and let it come out the other side.

I would not do this with my Lexus, although people suggest it could be done. I have seen this performed on several BMWs and an Infiniti here.

I think the better way to go is to put synthetic in and use recommended additives if you want.

I was not saying to put diesel fuel or kerosene or whatever in the fuel.

Delo as oil nothing more.
