Has any experienced problems seeing your dash when wearing polarized sunglasses? I've heard that polarized lenses could filter out LCD displays.

I wear polarized sunglasses while driving. I have had no problem seeing the lights. What you do see is the film on the side and rear windows. It appears as spots in a pattern. The radio will also exhibit a unique pattern. To see something comparable, look at a cell phone with your glasses. None of these will obstruct view or be distracting once you get used to it.

On my '02 RX, the gauges are still pretty normal with polarized sunglasses. The nav screen is a bit tougher to read as is the lcd odometer display. If you tilt your head slightly sideways, the odo and nav screen get totally blocked out by the glasses. I do notice the spots out the moonroof glass, the side and rear windows.

I can see all my displays well with my Bolle's. The only thing I notice is the radio display looks broken, like you stuck a needle in it. Scared me silly first time I saw it. It also causes the weird circles on the windows of the RX and other cars.

Liquid crystal displays are made with polarizing filters; that's what makes them work.
If you view an LCD through a polarized lens, you can only see it clearly when the lens is "lined up" with the LCD. If you turn the lens 90 degrees, the LCD will look black.
Most polarized sugnlasses are aligned in the same direction, so car manufacturers polarize the LCD displays to match.
If you take your sunglasses off and rotate them, you will find a point where the LCD display goes completely black. This is true of the LCD in your car, your digital watch, and anything else using polarized light.
