RX300 dash cover
Looking for a nice cover for the dash of my RX300. To get rid of the relection when driving. All ive seen are the really thick carpeted ones. Anyone know of a company that makes a nice thin one for an RX?

Keys, yeah, reflection of what, this spring?
Someone must have an antiglare compound for these larger dashes?? And the plastic protectors just seem to increase the wet look and glare to me?
I have noticed a trend in cars I test drive for a grand sloping dash that creates a lot of VERY annoying and distracting glare, imo. I felt like a football player needing that black antiglare smear on my cheek. The 330 was the best of the latest suvs we drove, the Volvo suv was really the worst imo. I will look for a flat/horizontal dash in cars I purchase in the future.

Dash Cover
Clouds? What are they? My problem seems to worse in the afternoon. The image of my dash takes up the whole front window. I went ahead and just bought one of the velour mats online. Hopefully it will come in before I run around Key West this weekend.

Hair of the dog?
The dash on my RX300 reflected pretty badly too - I had the ivory interior which only made it worse. The 330 seems to have a matte finish and a bit of a texture that pretty well fixed the problem. On my 300, some well-meaning carwash jockey Armoralled my dash, REALLY making it shine. Not being a fan of these products, I was ready to choke him.
I managed to improve the situation somewhat using a little hair of the dog. Some friends that restore and show classic cars put me on to this trick they use on tires and vinyl interiors - since they can't use "bright" finishes in most shows. Dilute Armorall 50% with water and shake it up. Spray or wipe as usual, but sparingly. Don't buff - obviously. The result is a flat finish that eliminates the Armorall shine. Stretches your Armorall too! Works great on tires especially, giving them a clean matte finish without the plasticky shine. Just looks like new, which is the effect the guys that show the classics are after.
Depending on what treatment has been applied to your dash in the past, this may be helpful. As they say, try it on an unobtrusive spot before slathering the entire dash with this mixture.

Keys, ok come up here and we'll show you clouds!
I think all these new car models with sloping dashes probably need antireflective coatings on the inside of the windshield for safety, just like the coatings available on eyeglasses - so you don't see your eyeballs all the time like I do cause I was too cheap to get the coating - and good field/sky optics such as binoculars, to eliminate glare; in my opinion. Throw in some thicker glass or a new glass technology to reduce front windshield wind noise too, like the side windows.

Parula, Thanks for the offer. But 23 years in Detroit was enough for me.
I will try the 50 percent Armour All soultion when I get home tonight. See what happens.
