Main roads (at least in the Toronto, Ontario area) are heavily salted by that time, I do see your point however on side streets. I guess the main thing to remember about any all season tire is, there is no such thing as a perfect tire.......the tire maybe excellent in snow, but not great on ice so if the weather is that horrible.....consider snow / ice tires or stay home. Not many all seasons do great on ice braking comared to winter rubber.

2003 RX300 has 225/70/16 size tires. can i go to 245/75/16?
