Leather Seat Rip
hello,
We have a small (1/2 inch) rip on the side of the driver seat. it appears as though getting in and out has worn the leather out. The local detail shop can fix this for $80. THey state they will replace that piece of leather and not just fix it? Is this normal, with a cost of $80?
Thanks

Re: Leather Seat Rip
is your rx still under mfg warranty? you might want to talk to the folks at the lexus dealership first...they tried to fix my small tear on the drivers side a couple times and each time it was just a temp fix (some sort of epoxy that sealed it for a few months but problem would recurr). they finally just replaced my lower leather completely for me last week, even tho i'm now outside the warranty period! my initial complaints about it were all prior to my warranty expiring and they were all documented in their system...i drive a 2000 rx with hella miles on it

I never thought of asking the dealer. But we are at 60K on the miles so the warranty is expired. 4yrs/50K. Plus the closest dealer is 4 hours away. So I had the lower panel replaced for $80. looks like new!
