has anyone gotten rid of the nasty factory tint ? you know, that nasty greenish one ?

i wanted to just run aftermarket tint film over it but the guy at the shop said it wouldn't look good. the only other thing i can think of is just to replace all the factory tinted glass.

doesn't look that nasty, but i duno how u will replace it. It's integrated into the glass, like they injected the liquid tint thingy into the glass at the factory. only way i see u can replace it is to replace the glass itself. putting a new tint over it won't look bad (seen an rx on the road with 5% tint, or maybe one way) and i don't think he or she removed the original factory tint.

The greenish tint is built into the glass, so you can't simply remove it. I am fond of the greenish tint though.

I've seen people put black tint over it. Looks weird but gives you better privacy.

that is true becuz i've seen other lexus's with like one way tints! I know the tint the factories put are around 10-15%.
