The schedule is clearly spelled out in the "my maintanance" portion of the Library.
ie.. my 2000 RX with rear lsd
Replace:
brake fluid
rear diff fluid if you have lsd
ac filter
tire rotation
oil and filter if applies
coolant
air filter

As I posted, $1500 was for the dealership 60K maintenance, which was nowhere near the manual's 60K maintenance. It obviously had more items that were changed, than what really need to at 60K. True, the plugs and belt were not 'scheduled' to be changed per the manual, but it was part of the dealer's 60K maintenace fee.
I'm sure you can go in and specify for individual maintenance here and there according to the manual, but overall you're going to pay more at the specified times individually, plus make more trips to the dealership.
I just got lazy, othewise I could done probably everything except the spark plugs and timing belt on the 60K and saved a bunch.
it's really up the individual owner whether he/she wants to perform maintenance as per suggest on manual, recommended by dealer, or on your own schedule. Nothing if fixed in stone.

I do not understand your logic. Performing maintenance by the Lexus recommendation will cost much less than the dealers unnecessary changing of good parts. Also, items are scheduled to be changed at regular service intervals, so there are no additional trips to the dealer as you suggest. Remember, your service advisor is actually a salesman out to sell whatever services he can talk you into within reason. Sounds like your advisor may win the trip to Hawaii this year.
