Smile Trip to Boston

Just an observation, last week I drove to Boston from Toronto in my RX300 (my first trip to across the border with RX), and I noticed many, many RX300 on the way there and particularly around Boston; could not believe the number of drivers that own RX300 compared to MDX, BMW, Nissan, ML... and most of them had a spoiler and roof-racks. But here in Ontario most the RX300 don't have spoiler and roof-racks, more plain looking. Now I want to buy a spoiler and roof-rack.
10.5hrs drive was really smooth.

I am originally from New York City. The RX300 is indeed popular in the Northeast corridor (from Boston to D.C.) It's got the soft creamy ride to combat the potholes. It is sized just right for the congested roads here. It's also very reliable so you don't get stranded in some rough neighborhood.

Who cares about the roof racks? I got roof racks and never used them. I want the automatic door lock you Canucks have!

I've almost knicknamed my RX the belly button, because everyone seems to have one... then again, it's a 40k dollar belly button

It's been nice to go to florida/NY and other places where there aren't that many RXs... it is really, really popular here (and with good reason, I love my RX BUT I HATE THE ACCEL LAG ON THE 330!!!!! :P

There are lots of RX's in Southern Florida where I spend my winters. JM Lexus is, I believe, the largest volume Lexus dealer in the U.S. There are also plenty in the Wash DC area where I spend the rest of the year.

I really like the clean look of my RX300, which is less spoiler, rack and moonroof. There aren't many out there in this configuration and I like being at least a little different.

Cool Bargain

The RX is cool. it's a relative bargain at $40K and it's sort of like the baby bear's bed. Poppa's Navigator is too big, Momma's Rav-4 is too small, baby's RX300/330 is just right.

Based on a car chassis for car like ride, adequate power from a V-6, and Lexus reliability, you can't go wrong with getting one.

The roof rack and spoiler are kind of pointless for most people, but with it does make the car look more aggressive. Plus it makes other people think you're using it for something besides going to the mall or lugging groceries. You might actually be packing bags and going off road.

Without the roof rack though, the RX does look minivan-ish, which is another reason people buy the RX, to not be a minivan mom/dad.
