Sunroof Deflector - IT WORKS!
I bought a brand new sunroof deflector on Ebay for under $50, including postage, in hopes of eliminating the annoying ear-popping resonance that was occuring when the sunroof was open. It was an easy install and when I took the car out to test drive it - IT WORKED! It apparently deflects enough of the air current to stop the 'buffeting' from happening. Some have stated that they don't want one on their roof detracting from the RX's look, but most of us have a roof rack up there doing that already! I guess it's not for everybody, but if you want to actually get some quality use out of your sunroof, this is one investment you shouldn't pass up. I thought about buying it, but decided against it. Looking at the curve of the roof, I realized that water will get trapped in the moonroof deflector.
Let me know how you make out the next rainy day.

Trapped water?
Trapped water? I've had sunroof/moonroof deflectors on every car I've had so far and water has never gotten trapped, unless I'm misunderstanding your 'concern' The deflectors all have openings on the rubber molding along the visor that allows for water to drain out. You won't get water traps.
I personally think the visors add a sporty look, but that's just me.

I didn't see openings on the ones I checked. I'll investigate again. Thanks.
My concern was the roof in front of RX300's moonroof is lower, so that water might sit inside the deflector until I really step on the gas. (and get a shower if the moonroof is open.)

No hole
Gosh darn it, you're right Harrier. There is no 'hole' visible on the visor for the RX. I checked my Integra and Civic and the Honda/Acura ones do have two little drain holes at the bend. I had only assumed when I posted that the Lexus did too because in five years I have never had water gather in the visor.
When I wash my car, I get in there and clean out the moonroof and inside of visor and then I spray the inside nice and well. The water always ran out immediately, so there is some system (either by hidden drainage holes) that's draining the water.
All I can say now is, if you get the original visor, it will definitely drain the water, but if you get an aftermarket visor, check to make sure there are drain holes.

Drilling
If you buy OEM, you won't have to do anything. If you do have to 'drill' some holes, it would probably be on the rubber seal that runs along the visor, rather than on the visor itself.
Looking at material, looks acrylic to me.
