Interior Headlight Fog
My wife's 2000 RX 300 has some of that " interior headlight fog " I've read about on this forum. It's really on the inside, and I'm wondering if it's covered under the Certified Warranty, or if not can I remove the headlight housings , separate the lens from the housing, clean the inside, and then reseal the assembly? Has anyone tried this method of solving the problem? This really shouldn't happen!

headlight fog
my rx300 came with the Lexus Gold extended warranty (suspect it is like your certified)
After I read the fine print of the warranty it appears the lights are specifically excluded... Suggest you read the fine print also...
In fact if you read the warranty (any Lexus extended warranty) does not cover much beyond the powertrain and things which should not typically go bad, ie: power seat and window motors, powertrain, etc...
I purchased the vehicle with this warranty and paid a bit more for it because of it... Next time things will be different...
I had headlight fog also and took some fine wax like Mcguire Scratch-X product and rubbed it on and used the orbital buffer to remove it. I found that the headlight came out crystal clean and most of the fog went away.... Don't know if the heat generated by the orbital buffer removed it. Not leaving the car outdoors when its raining also helped...
Cheers,
Fern
