Mike. I own a 2001 RX. I dont believe the Auto Headlights didnt come out untill the 330. The rear hatch is a standard door. It pops open by hand. And rasies kinda slow.

I have a 2001 with the High Intensity Discharge headlight option and they are self leveling. The HID's were included with a few different option packages. They do help a liitle at night but the tradeoff is they are a high theft item. If I could do it again I would go without them. The rear hatch opens as good as can be expected. It has 2 gas piston struts which assist the opening. I did see a few posts where the struts needed replacement, but this is not a common problem. All windows are auto up/down. Overall, I would recommend the 2001 as a great car.

The RX300 HID headlights are auto-leveling. Halogens are not.
The trunk opens and closes manually. It becomes hard to open fully in cold weather.
All windows are auto both up and down with pinch protection.

I didnt realize that the lights were an option. Also how common was the Nav system in the 2001? I didnt see any when I was looking for one. Also ive seen the 2001 Silversport. But was there a Coach Edition in 2001?

The Harrier (RX300 in Japan) I'm pretty sure has this option. I know the MR2 fog lights from the early 90s always had them in Japan but the US market never saw this option.
You would have to import them (any Toyota Dealer can import any Japan or EU part).

SilverSport model was an option in 01. It only came in Silver or black. If you can find one I would highly recommend it. It had some nice options, you don't find on a standard RX: euro-tuned suspension, perforated leather seats, mono tone paint, matching paint roof racks, SS grill, SS interior mats, SS badging and brushed aluminum interior trim. Coach edition took the place of SilverSport in 02, but had it's own option list and was more luxury than sport.
NAV was readily available when I was shopping for a new RX in 2001. I would guess about 25% of inventory had NAV. SilverSport came both with and without NAV.

I looked at about 100 of the RX300 models. When I was looking for my CPO. I saw a couple of the Silver Sports. One of the Coach. None of them had a Nav Display. I guess people end up keeping them. And not trade them in.

I am thinking about getting another 01 SilverSport. This time Black, FWD, prefer no HID or NAV. I know I could never find this in the Northeast where almost all RXs are AWD. So I was thinking about looking in the south, possibly Florida. Any one know if many of these exist or am I chasing a needle in a haystack.

If your willing to travel. You can find Sliver Sports all the time on eBay. They are listed by various auto dealers. The ones ive seen tend to be silver with black interiors.
