Default Flushing coolant system this weekend.

99 RX300

I'm going to flush the system this weekend. It hasn't been done for several years. I found a good tutorial here - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=147551 - but was curious to know if I read correctly.

First - this part number 00272-SLLC2 comes up as Toyota Red, rather than Toyota Pink. I would like to use pink. Does anyone have that part number handy?

Second - In doing a complete flush I'm going to be using 6 gallons of Toyota Pink - correct? Three gallons for the flushing process will be drained. Three gallons will replace the newly flushed pink. So I should end up with roughly 6 gallons of coolant to dispose of - 3 gallons of original and 3 gallons of flushed pink. Correct?

Thanks for any other recommendations.

Mike.
00272-SLLC2 is off the bottle, which states it is factory filled pink.
The system takes 9.5 quarts. You'll use mabee 8.5 quarts to prefill without the expansion tank. That adds to 18 quarts, Four and one half gallons total. You should have a little extra to top off the expansion tank.

Cool

I will be switching to the Pink 'Super Long Life Coolant' as well. Don't forget that it comes already 'pre-mixed' with a 55% coolant & 45% distilled water mixture. Make sure you get all old coolant out of the entire system or you loose the benefit of the longer drain intervals. Good Luck!

Dumb question.

Where do you get the 5/16 inch plastic tubes?

The clear plastic tubes were purchased at a local "ACE Hardware Store"
