Default How to tell if RX300 is 4x4?

I am putting my mom's 2002 RX300 for sale. My mom thinks its a 4x4, but when goto lexus.com "my garage" it says its 4X2. How accurate is lexus.com? I am guessing its good b/c it goes by vin #.

Or the old fashion way, crawl underneath and see if there is a drive shaft going to the rear wheels or floor the vehicle from a stand still, with the TCS turned off and see if the front tires chirp and if you have torque steer.

Nothing against your mom or you, so I hope you are not offended, however, so typical of chicks to think they have AWD! I bet when she bought the RX the salesman gave her some BS line about the ruggedness of having an AWD suv, etc. Hook, line and sinker.

TCS switch is only available on FWD. The AWD has no switch, just a blank plastic filler in its place.

Also big black lump about the size of a pumpkin midway between the rear wheels, visible from the rear (that would be the rear diff).

And as functional as the AWD has been on our 300 and our 330, I wouldn't go so far as to call it "rugged".
