1999 awd has a slight clunk in the rear of the car when going over minor bumps. Almost a rattle sound if the road is bad enough. After doing some searching and reading on the board, I've decided to replace the bushing on top of the strut. Also there is talk of the strut mount failing at very low miles. Has anyone had this experience? Shoudl I just replace the whole strut while I have them out of the car? This is a DIY project so only spending $25 on bushings vs $500 for struts and mounts can be a big difference in cost. Anyone done the job? Thanks.

Had a 99 FWD and no problem as you reported. Then I drive strreet, mostly.
