CEL EGR Insufficient Flow
Newbie here: CEL came on last week. Took it to AutoZone & they came up with DTC P0401. Dude that ran the test said it was O2 sensor Bank 1, before cat. Looked up price & said it was $434.00!!!! After I stopped laughing, and when I got home, I checked online & P0401 is "EGR Insufficient Flow." Is it my imagination or does this have nothing to do at all with the O2 Sensor. If not, what is the next step? Thanks, BC

Nothing to do w/ O2 sensor. Your intake manifold is clogged with carbon desposits. Take it to dealer if it is still under warranty. Out of warranty you can DIY, take the engine cover off, spray oven cleaner, scrub w/ an used toothbrush, and finish off w/ carb cleaner.

Thanx Tuned- Hate to appear ignorant, but what do you mean by engine cover? Also, where am I spraying carb. cleaner. Lastly, do I need to replace EGR valve? Jewel

Typo on my part, I meant to take apart the intake manifold. (I have cleaned it on my Acura TL, which requires me to take off the engine cover. For RX, the inake manifold is not on top of the engine.)
