Over the years or even when you put a lot of miles on the car it starts building carbon deposits. This will cause the car to stall or in some cases just won't start at all. Something tells me that cleaning the TB will not fix your problem. Try to bring it in and have your dealer check it before you have to tow it in. Goodluck.

While no fuel is used in the throttle body, dirty crankcase gas gets recirculated back (for clean emission) and can foul up the throttle body with soot over time. Also dirty air can bypass non-OEM-compliant air filter. Checking and cleaning throttle body once in a while would be a good preventative measure.
To glennp1999: Cheap 87 octane won't cause this problem. I use 87 and my t/b is clean as whistle. People who use oil-glazed non-OEM-compliant air filters are prime candidates for this problem. Though it could happen to anyone through no fault of their own.

i had my trd air filter swapped out for an oem joint while they did my oil change cause my trd one was mad dirty...i didn't have time to clean it and the oem one was hella cheap so i had them jam that in in the meantime...i guess i might not put back my trd one and see what happens

Cleaning your throttle body may be a good idea. If it's dirty, t/b cleaner is available at auto part stores.
Let me know if you get reduced performance or reduced gas mileage with the OEM paper air filter.
