When I got my RX, it didn't have the Duelers. It has currently the GoodYear Integritys. The car has close to 42k miles and they need to be replaced before the end of summer.

I've been reading up on the Cross Trainers...and am thinking of going that route. My only problem is deciding wether or not to get the oem size of 225/70/16 or going with a wider tire and shorter side wall. Like a 235/60/16. Anything should be better than stock! :-)

Cool

You might want to give serious consideration to a brand new Toyo SUV tire called the Open Country H/T (H/T stands for Highway Terrain). They will trump the Michelins for much less money!

Both Bridgestone Dueler and GY Integrity are bad, they are meant to get you out of Lexus dealer's door. Dealers also do not buy mileage warranty to save on cost. I got Yoko Geolander as replacement around 46K, much better tires than OEM tires.

If you are thinking of using 235 Cross Terrains in place of the stock 225's, you should be aware that the 235 CTs only have a wear rating of 420, where the 225s have a wear rating of 700. That means a 225 should last 1.6 times as long. The 235 size is considered an OEM tire and is not the same tire as the 225 size. Consumer Reports recently tested SUV tires and rated Cross Terains very low much to the susprise of the many Cross Terain owners who swear by them. But they only tested the 235's, which as I said is not the same tire as the 225's.

Default Duelers - What is bad about them?

I had Goodyear Integrity and they were quiet but neither long lasting nor 'performance' oriented. I would have thought anything is better than the Goodyears. For replacement I chose Michelin Cross Terrains and have been very pleased.

Definitly go for the 225 Cross Terrains cause they will last a lot longer than the 235's. You can pick the 225's up at Costco for cheap.

The Duelers that came with my 99 didn't even last 60000 km's...Back then, the RAV4's shipped with the same tire. Tells you how good they were )

Wink

I'd give the new Toyo's some serious consideration personally.

Have to say I love the Integrity's, 50+k on the first set and would have had more before a trade. Quiet and 50-60k on my cars.

The tires on my 2005 seem to really wear out fast ... none too happy about that with just over 10,000 on the odometer.

Parula, your comment about the stock Goodyear Integrity tires is the first postiive comment I have read about the tires. Can you tell me how they have done in the rain (wet pavement) and in snow here in the northeast (NJ) for you? I was thinking about switching the tires for another brand based on fear of poor performance in wet pavement. Your feedback (or others) will be helpful.
Also, off-topic (sorry), since you are in NJ, have you had problems or heard of problems of stolen Xenon headlights? (I am assuming you have Xenon headlights?
Thanks for your response(s).

Goodyear Integrity isn't all bad. It is fairly quiet, smooth riding, very good dry and wet braking. However its performance in snow and ice is near suicidal.

Folks in NY/NJ may be OK since they do a good job with the snow (I'm from NYC.) Out here in Colorado, we are on our own. Our roads rarely get plowed. The snow then melts in the afternoon sun and refreezes by dinner time. Tonya Harding couldn't find a better skating rink to throw her hubcaps.

Default Goodyear Tires

HarrierAWD, Thanks for your input. It allows me to feel better about staying with the Goodyears until the winter season arrives. My RX330 is relatively new and I have not had a chance to drive it very much, so I will wait and see for now.

We got 60k out of our Integritys. They were decent/quiet. But they are a passenger tire. We also got the Yoko Geolanders. Highly rated and they are a light truck/suv tire. Happy with them
