Default Navigation Overseas?

Do you guys think a 2001+ RX300 navigation would work overseas? There are RX's in Italy w/navi. Do you think if I purchased a europe navigation disc and maybe change the GPS antenna to one of theirs, it could possibly work. And the Reason I wont just buy a European RX is Because I am American and Stationed in Italy and Italian RX cost Just about double of what they cost back Home Darn Euro rate Any suggestions or should I just be on the prowl for a low milage 2001+ RX.

Global Positioning Satellite signals should work anywhere in the world. You are right to map your position on a digitalized map you would need appropriate DVDs.

Yep, GPS is designed to work anywhere in the world so sailers and pilots can navigate. If someone is jamming the signal coming from those sattellites that is another story.
