Hello everyone, i own a 99 RX300 in black, and i love the car but i get sick everytime i look at it now, because the paint job's dull, and everything that came stock is still on the vehicle... I'm looking to tint, get a new paint job, put rims, fender flares, or all of the above
I need ideas on all of the above... i would love to put some black rims to go with the black color..... someone who knows anything please help
Much appreciated, Andrew

Welcome to CL scuge!
Check out the FAQ thread on this forum (stickied above) for tint info and other valuable tips.
As for paint, unless your finish is badly chipped, or there is significant rust, I'd consider a good professional detail, or a weekend of sweat equity spent on a DIY claybar, polish and wax. The black Lexus does NOT have a clearcoat, so you are dealing with the pigmented coat directly. (see the detail forum for more info HERE).
To get a paint job as good as the original, you are looking at spending some serious cash. For a bit of labor and a whole lot less money, you might be surprised how good a finish is really lurking behind all of that chalk!
Here's Guitarman's definitive treatment of the detail process you can DIY: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=131273
Good Luck!

rims will DEFINITELY improve the looks of your rx...you might wanna consider painting your rx's lower cladding for monochrome look too...all black rx with ninja black rims w/ polished lip would look super clean and super classy imho check the gallery for some pics to get some ideas, you can peep out l-tunedparts.com or myautofashion.com for some jdm parts...good luck, man

I have a black 99 also.
I painted the gray panels black to match. Now in Mexico, this cost me about $400 USD. Even the guys up at Lexus in San Antonio could not believe this when they saw the job. We used a DuPont paint, but I cannot remember the exact version.
