I am thinking about purchasing an extended warranty for up to 145k at $2k. Since people do say that these AWD unit has tendencies to fail around 140k.
Are these extended warranties worth buying? Please share experiences and advice.

Just be careful who you buy the insurance from. Wether you will need it (enough to recover your outlay) who knows. The premium is set to make money for the insurance company.

There is an interior noise, I think it may be AC related. The antenna makes noises going up and down.

Don't buy the extended warranty. Instead, put the money in an emergency fix fund. You will find that it will more than cover repairs for the next few years.

Salvage Titles
I used to travel to dealer-only auctions in the mid-atlantic region. Many auctions do NOT even accept " Salvage title " vehicles. Those that do only run the vehicles through the auction as " AS IS " units, even to franchised dealers. The " Salvage Title " vehicles were either units that were " stolen / recovered vehicles or vehicles that were written-off as TOTALS by an insurance company. These " TOTALS " are sometimes refused insurance coverage by auto insurance companies because most of them have been carelessly put back together to last long enough to make it through the auction. I've even seen " Salvage title " vehicles that had the front half from one year of a car and the rear half from another year. NEVER BUY A SALVAGE TITLE VEHICLE !

The antenna does not contribute to safety/drivability. Use it till it becomes in-operative. Cleaning and lubing and cleaning again (do not leave lube on it) may make it last a bit longer. Even when the antenna is good, you can hear it extend and retract if there is no ambient noise.
