Default Lexus sold RX300 frame to Kia?

I heard this on the radio and I don't believe Lexus would do such a thing. I have to admit the RX300 and Sorrento look almost identical, but is this the new trend in autos, when your done with an old frame design sell it to a inexpensive firm and make more $$$.

lol hmmm fords hybrid design looks like the prius and 400h. wonder where did they get it from

wait we sold it to them

most companies do these types of things because it lowers the R and D costs

history lesson about their hybrids

couple years ago ford buys the technology (hardware only)
durring that year ford could not get their hybrid to work
the next year ford buys the software. then this year
ford has hybrid

Entirely false.

The Kia Sorento (with one "R", not two) is a truck-based SUV, wherease the Lexus is car-based. Kia clearly took some styling cues from Lexus, and the Sorento is very attractive as a result. Also Toyota wasn't done with that "old frame design." The Sorento was introduced as a 2003 model, while Lexus was still building RX300's.

Obviously the guy on the radio was making it up. The RX300 and Sorento do look alike, but the RX300 is a uni-body design, while the Sorento is a traditional SUV with body on ladder frame design. Totally different animals under the skin.
