Replacing Stock Radio w/ Nav in 99 RX300
Does anyone out there know how to install a navigation system in a 99 RX300? Are any of the newer Lexus navigation systems compatiple to just swap out? I really would like one that I could use w/ DVD too. Any suggestions?

If you have a non nav RX (for that matter any vehicle) th choices are in order of cost
1. Get an add on Nav unit like tomtom Garmin etc. or even Laptop with gps + software. (totally portable .. spend money once and move it to the vehicle you are sitting in.
2. Change the head unit to after-market nav units (fitment may be an issue specially for Lexus)
3. Sell yor vehicle and buy another (same if you prefer) with Nav unit.
4a. Buy a unit from Junk-yard
4b. Buy a unit from Lexus then go through the trouble of wiring it in.
For 4a/b browse through GS forum and look for member BananaGs. He is the only one I know who made this mod. Definately not for everyone.
I am not sure if Lexus NAV have a pickup from wheel for navigation where you may have a drop of coverage (going through tunnel) or down town area... these systems re-adjust when enogh satellites broadcast is received, but can limp along for a while with compass and wheel rotation.
