Here's mine sans racks and flaps. They look like they're "stuck on" to me, like ears on a potato head sort of.

I don't mean to bust your chops Carver, but that looks naked. In my own opinion, the RX needs a spoiler...and as for the mud flaps, it looks incomplete.

but nice shots, haha!

Miniround, it would be impossible for you to bust my chops. LOL, a spoiler on an RX300 is just sad.

I agree. Here's what a real RX300 should look like... with everything on!

Roof racks, mud flaps, spoiler, front and back bumper guard, and tow hitch.

LOL, well, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla. Put a Jack in the Box ball on the antenna and you'll be good to go!

I like the clean look of your RX300, much better than a mini-trash truck look. Have you considered removing "Lexus" and "RX300" badges from the real lift gate? Or changing the front grille with horizontal grids like those on MB?

This thread is about the gas mileage with or without roof racks. Badge removal or grille swap doesn't do jack with gas mileage. Please stay with the topic or start a new thread, thanks.

The clean look does look nice to me, too. Very slick.

Of course, other add-on stuff like the rear spoiler, mud flaps, bumper guard, factory tow package (with comes with lower rear axel gear ratio) can affect gas mileage as well. A small price to pay for a functional SUV. In my Lexus dealer's lot, most RX300 came equipped with factory rear spoiler, roof racks, and mud flaps. Hard to find a "clean" one.

Since 12/18/06, this dead thread is revived by DDlexus to talk about looks. He titled his post "Picture worth 1000 words" did you read it?

So does Carver, miniround, if you wish to continue to discuss mpg, perhaps you can start a new thread.

Now Harrier, if that pic of yours had been on top of a mountain with no roads, brush hanging off the guard, mud caked on the wheels instead of being shiny clean in a well tended parking lot with a mountain in the background, I might buy the "functional SUV" thing.

I would bet 99.99% of RX300 owners never go off road (on purpose ) and all that stuff hanging off of it is just an LX fantasy.

What the RX300 is is a superb urban warrior for dealing with the realities of modern traffic in the city and the suburbs. The brakes, steering, handling, ride height and quickness make it a great choice for doing what it does best, getting around town in style and comfort.

The first post is "Gas Mileage w/o roof racks" by DaveJ.

Be nice.

Off topic here. You can search for my RX300 pics in the Monument Valley in Navajo Nation. That picture won the grand prize here at ClubLexus. I got a ClubLexus T-shirt. I'm wearing it now.

The RX300 is actually surprisingly capable offroad (not just dirt road, OFFroad.) And it does urban duty well.

Talk about being nice...and applying a mean double standard.
You wrote multiple posts, talking nothing other than looks but telling others who want to discuss about the same thing to start a new thread
