So, I'm visiting the family, and there's a 2001 RX300 sitting in the driveway here that has not been run in 2 months.

* Battery will not hold a charge (about time for a new one, anyway).

* Smoke coming out the back is now 'run through' (I assume this was old fuel that stayed in the engine and just needed to be burned out). It's all gone now. Engine oil is fine.

Here's the really odd one:

*** The transmission is shifting very, very abruptly. I wouldn't describe it as slipping, but it's a jump. Seems like it's taking a second or two to shift each time.

What do you guys think is going on???? Transmission fluid levels are fine, and the fluid looks clean.

PS The car has 50,000 miles and has been regularly serviced every 5k at the stealerships.
