Hello,
I'm new to this forum.
I bought a certified (which includes a 3-year warranty) 99 Lexus in June 2003 with 50k miles. I'm now approaching 80k, and my 3-year warranty is about to expire. I know that I can extend the warranty, but Lexus will not issue a warranty for cars with more than 100k. So I should be good for another 2-3 years.
Can anyone let me know your mileage (if above 80k) and what, if any, problems you are having?
Basically, I'm trying to determine if I should trade my car in now for a newer model while the re-sale value is still high (around $18k KBB). Or do you think that I can run this car to 200k?
thanks!

It's always cheaper to keep a car, even if you have to replace stuff. I replaced mine at 120K, not because I didn't think it would take me to 200K, but because my wife was uncomfortable driving a car with so many miles. No major concerns, just a mysterious shimmy in the front end, which I never got diagnosed. Could have need new axle or axles, or could have needed tie rod ends, but I didn't want to find out, since I was getting rid of it anyway.
Cheaper to keep it, but cost is only one factor to consider.
