Default Does the RX have snow melting ability?

I find this odd since my mother told me this morning. In the driveway, I have the rx300 parked next to a neon. They both got snowed on none of the cars were cleaned for snow. Now, what's weird is that you most of the snow melted away on the lexus and you can actually see water dripping. The neon has every bit of snow on it still.

Does every RX do this? Thanks guys and drive safe in the snow for those who got it.

It may be due to height diffrence between the two vehicles. The other reason being larger air volume/mass inside the closed cabins.

Incedentally here in Austin, we were close to 80's yeterday ... A/C running ... this morning the outside showed 45.

Two possiblities: the Lexus might have been driven so it was warm. Or it has a darker color than Neon and absorbed sunlight before the snow.

I'm guessing that the car the snow melted on is painted a dark color. The other car the snow
did not melt on is painted a light color. It makes all the difference in the world.
A black car might be too hot to touch in the hot sun whereas a white car might feel cool in the same sun.

The snow melted off the Lexus because it is a better vehicle than the Dodge. Period. End of story. No further discussion required.

Hm...the color theory seems to make sense. Even the next door neighbors black fx did the same thing and my rx is black...and the neon is silver.\

mmahamm-I take it that you were joking right?

Default No question, it's color.

Dark colors absorb much more solar energy than do light colors that reflect it. This summer we were shopping RX's. It was sunny. I quickly noted that you could not hold your hand on the sheet metal of the dark colored RX's for more than a second or two, they were that hot, while the white and light colored cars you could comfortably put your hand on for as long as you wanted. That's what convinced me to buy a light-colored one (silver - to save on AC) even though the flint/mica looked really nice (but felt very hot).
