How to remove the Headliner/Sunglass holder?
I want get power from a wire under the sunglass holder for my radar detector, could someone explain how to get this off with out messing it up?
It appears to just snap into the headliner hole but it is in there pretty firmly.
TIA

Radar Detector power
You can get power from the Moon roof connector. Thats how I hooked up my XM Roady.

Work for satellite radio as well??
Will this technique also work for installing a satellite radio in a similar location. I saw a picture of one installed right in the sunglass holder space (with custom plastic framing made). I'll likely be getting satellite radio shortly and have ideas of installation but I would really like to hard-wire unit (not use cigarette lighter).
Can the adapter wire simply be cut and joined up to this wire (#8 in a diagram)? I also imagine it must be a 12 volt device as well?? If not where else can you pick up a wire? Any tips, greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sunglasses Holder
I used this procedure to pick up power for my XM Roady. I mounted the Roady in the sunglass holder. I had to buy a cigarette lighter receptacle. And an extension cable for the cassette adapter. When you mount the radio. Dont cut the plastic untill all of the cables are installed. I centered mine in the holder. But had to move it over to compensate for the cables.
I stowed the power wires behind the sunglass holder. The antenna and audio wire I ran to the right. Then down the door post. I mounted the antenna in the center of the dash. Works just fine.
The audio wire I ran down the door posst. Then up under the glove box. If you pull the U shaped wood trim piece. You can bring the audio wire up from behind.
