Christmas Present from Our RX300
Hey everyone,
I hope you all have had a great holiday! Our 2000 RX300 decided to give us an early Christmas present... It doesn't seem to lock the passenger side, front door anymore. Both remote key, and inside power locks have no effect whatsoever on the unlocking or locking of the passenger door. It only works manually when I lean over to change it.
I used to have this problem and it went away, but now I think its fully broken.
Has anyone had this problem before or know of a fix?
This is our second year of having this vehicle it was CPO and these have been the problems:
Stalled twice randomly while driving: Dealer couldn't find fault
Battery died: Expected -- but should have been caught before we had the vehicle delivered (most likely the cause of the stalling)
Bad O2 sensor
Passengerside door lock
Thank you!
Michael

My '99 had the same problem--not so extreme. (I've had it for 7 years). From longtime use that "actuator" just wears out. They were able to make mine "better" by spraying oil into the lock inside the door, via the windown, on the edge of the lock on the door. One of those must have worked because after a couple of days the car was fine.

Had my passenger front replaced about 4 months ago. It is the actuator as mentioned. Lexus dealer wanted to charge around $450 to replace but fortunately I have a used car warranty and they (insurance company) would cover $250 for the part and about $50 for labor. Lexus kindly adjusted charges and I was left only with my $100 deductible.
