The wire is going on top of the weather-stripping. I suppose you could cut it to get under it and reseal with a glue of some sort but the wire is invisible from within the car and watching the wire while opening and closing rear door several times does not seem to put any significant pinch on the wire. I am not afraid that it will break.

I was looking for a picture I saw a few weeks back of an install at the glasses holder but could not find it again. They removed the holder (just the thing that folds down) and made a custom piece out of plastic and mounted the unit recessed into that space. Looked very clean and nice. Does your remote work when your case is in the closed position? I suspect it blocks rear-view mirror in the down position.

Thanks for the pic. Unfortunately, I don't have a remote. Yes it does block the rearview mirror when it's down. I rarely change channels, so once it's what I want it on, it goes back up and closes out of sight.
