Hi Gang
Turned down the stereo last night on the freeway and heard a very constant and annoying whistling sound coming from the windshield area at about 55-65 mph.
It was *not* windy out side and all the windows/roof were close all the way.
Any ideas?

I think its from the windshield vertical side edges. Looks like a large groove on the sides. I think the air gets in the groove. A good after market part you could put over the area to smooth this out would work and sell big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or could be the rest of the SUV is so quite you just hear the wind.

Depending on the forward/back positioning of the roof rack, they've been known to cause noise, the 99 was so bad in fact that there is a service bulletin and the rack can be freely replaced with the 2000+ style rack.

I don't know the TSB number but when we took our car into the dealer they said there was one and ordered us the new roof rack and a few weeks later when it came in we took the car back and they installed it, all free of charge. That was at Pleasonton Lexus in California.
