This time I am going to recommend to wait until after your next fillup and I would choose a different gas station just to test.

I use CostCo gas occasionally and it runs fine.

Costco actually periodically check fuel filter at the bump so your fuel filter does not have to work as hard. WSJ reports Costco gas came from Shell, Chevron, or BP, just minus the additives.

I have said it many times that the gas I used in Mexico is full of impurities, even when using the Premium 92 Octane. Not only the sulfur, but just whatever else is lurking in those tanks. American gasoline so far superior to what I use here.

Actually, CostCo gas also contains cleaning additives as required by local law. You could get the Shell, Chevron, or BP additives at CostCo. It's just like a box of chocolate, you never know what you gonna get.

While it is true that each oil company has its own blend of additives, they all work very well.

He could have gotten the bottom of the tank gas. When I see the tanker truck at the station, I move on to the next.

Default Could be all the above...

I should not blame the gas........its that at 3.40 a gallon everyone is using so much here.....and the problem continues....but when my check engine light comes on...all is fine....very weird.i need and OBD scanner...any good ones around

Actually, premium in Mexico is close to $3 USD unless you buy in the border zone where it is cheaper to stay competitive with the U.S.

However, I would rather pay $3.40 and fill up on U.S. gas than fill up on the garbage down here.

Thank nationalized oil.

The next thing I check is IACV, check out another thread. Could be clogged by carbon buildup and not enough air for the engine at idle.

Actually, the exact code would be the useful one, since then I can go to the RX service manual.

Sometimes, when the weather gets hot and humid like it is now, my idle also creeps a tad below 750 RPM.

With a vacuum leak, we are most likely talking about a hose being disconnected or there is a hole in one of them. My uncle and I use the old trick of spraying water on all of the air hoses to find any leak and see if bubbles show up.

When the CEL or engine light comes on, from what I have read in the service manual, this forces the ECU into some type of default mode and all will appear to run normal.
