Funny I just got my RX300 SS yesterday, and decided to rip out the entire interior and do a really thorough detailing..
I must admit it was not that that hard... Unfortanately I do not have pictures, nor the patience to do a full DIY....
So here is my abbridged version to help contribute to the community!!!
1 - you need to slide the top drawer open
2 - pop off the top "cap" of the console (cupholder and rear vents) - held in by 6 clips
3 - you will see down there are 2 gold 10mm bolts to be removed.
4 - remove the cover on the bottom of the console in front of the bottom drawer.
5 - remove those 2 gold bolts
6 - unscrew 2 screws all the way in the fron of the console on the sides.
7 - pop out the rear AC power (in back of the console)
8 - unplug the AC harness, and I think another one in the front for the green light.
the console should now be free for removal:
Now dismantanling the console is a whole different story. took almost 3 hours to take apart... clean...and put back together.
I am not very mechanically inclined, but have about 8-9 yrs experience with moddifing cars, I have removed interior parts from some vehicles in the past, and I must say this is by far the easiest I have done. Way easier than a civic and much easier than an Acura TL With Lexus everything just makes sense, and there are not too many suprizes or hidden screws. The clips are of very good quality. not one broken clip..... I was very impressed of how easy everything even went back together!
Front Seats are real easy..
remove plastic bolt covers.
remove 4 seat bolts
unplug airbag and power seat harness
seats are now free for removal
