Epoxy can work in some minor cases, BUT, In most cases theres no easy fix for the lamp even if you get it to hold for a little while any bump, pothole, or curb the light will fall off. If the brackets are cracked and "I now they are" It won't hold. When you collied those are the first things to go... See it all the time

Regarding the bumper- normally professional shops won't repair a"crack" damage especially on a luxury vehicle, although it is doable.

Here is one crazy fix on a viper " notice the chunk that is missing just shy below the door handle"

I actually wanted to do an example (not this weekend, but the next) with my uncle showing how we do bodywork by doing a small example on my RX300. Simply amazing the work they can do down here.

Default Need advice again

Ok guys and gals, I need more help.

Mom had to have the starter replaced. $500!!! Subaru wanted $300 to do it in my Legacy, I did my own for $90. Yeesh. But that repair was unavoidable. However, the RX is driving like a truck these days and needs new shocks. $2000 all around. So after paying $500 for a starter, $600 for an oil leak, and there some more in there, my parents arent too happy with this car.

My mom talked to a salesman today. The '08s are coming in meaning that should could get a well equipped RX350 for $39K. She could also get an RX400h (my personal choice) for $46K. The RX400h is the quickest and most fuel efficient, so that wins me over. But, the 350 is still better than her current 300. The 300 only gets about 21 highway, so 24 mpg would make a difference seeing as how she does alot of highway driving. I would be more inclined to go for the 350 it had a 6 speed instead of a 5 speed.

Also checkin out the X3, which is quicker than any of the Lexus choices, has a 6 speed (though you can also get it in a 6MT which would be fun but I think my dads got that covered already) and has the best mileage of 19 and 26.

Nevertheless, she is still trying to figure out whether its a good idea to proceed. She was hoping her RX300 would hold up better than it has. At 88,000 miles its asked alot.....and I think its because she's been playfully tormenting me lately about Toyota quality over Subaru quality. We were neck and neck with repair bills. But, now she's taken the lead for spending the most.
